Poem: ‘To Bloom’

The opening
of a flower
reveals
Brilliance, colour, and life,
Reflecting water, light, and space –
All that made
blooming
possible.

Okay so this is really similar to a previous post.

I think the rather pathetic origin of my obsession with flower metaphors derives from a scene from the Disney film Mulan where her dad is trying to console her after a disastrous visit to the ‘match maker’ (a terrifying woman who assesses eligible young ladies’ grace, poise, and prettiness amongst other things) by pointing to a closed cherry blossom that is late to open and saying something about when it blooms it’ll be the most beautiful. Yes, yes, I am sure I saw awkward self as the cherry blossom…ahem…annnyway!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
